Different Dental Implant Options
If you recently found out you need dental implants (or if it is something you have known for a while) the process can be overwhelming. There is so much information out there, It can be hard to make a choice. In order to make your life easier, we put together a list of the different options you have when it comes to dental implants.
Dental implants are the best way to get your mouth back.
Because dental implants are very similar to natural teeth, you can do most things with dental implants that you can do with your natural teeth. That is why dental implants continue to be the best option. In this article, we will cover the different types of dental implants, Subperiosteal and Endosteal, and the different procedures available.
This is when implants are not installed into the bone. Instead, they are placed below the gum line on top of the bone. These types of implants are not as strong as Endosteal implants.
These implants, installed into the bone, are the best option. The implants act like natural teeth roots, which make them the strongest option available. Endosteal implants can restore biting force to 90%.
At Nuvia Dental Implant Center, we specialize in Endosteal implants. Because this is all we focus on, we offer the most cutting edge techniques and equipment as well as an experienced and tested team. Because a regular dental office offers so many other services, they don’t have specialized experience. But we do. This allows us to use the very best of technology and have the highest trained dental implant surgeons.
Different types of Endosteal implants
Basically, there are four different types of endosteal implants.
- Single tooth
- Implant supported Bridge
- Implant supported denture
- Full Arch
Single Tooth Implants
Single tooth implants are exactly what they sound like. The implant surgeon secures the implant to the jaw, then puts on a crown. This procedure is best when only one tooth is missing or needs replacing. And, the jaw bone is healthy enough for the implant.
A good example of this is if you were out on the basketball court and you got your front tooth knocked out. If the tooth wasn’t saved, an implant is a perfect option.
But hurry because… when teeth are missing for an extended period of time, the jaw bone shrinks. It needs constant pressure and the force of teeth roots to stay strong. Without a tooth, the bone begins to shrink and lose density.
This is why it’s important to get that tooth replaced right away. To avoid losing bone density. If the jaw loses density and shrinks… the implant process becomes much more complicated.
At Nuvia Dental Implant Center, an implant specialist can determine if you are a good candidate. At your consultation, your Nuvia Implant Specialist will take measurements. And show you the options available.
The sooner you are able to set up your consultation, the better your situation will be.
Again, a single tooth implant is just one option and usually the best option when the jaw bone is healthy. And when only one tooth is missing or beyond repair.
If more than one tooth is missing, there are other options.
Implant Supported Bridge
An implant supported bridge is another option. This option is useful when many teeth next to each other are missing.
The dental surgeon will place implants at the end, then bridge the gap.
This is more cost-effective because you do not need an implant for each tooth. The downside is some bone loss will occur because each tooth doesn’t have an implant.
A situation when this is a good choice: When 3 or 4 adjacent teeth are missing or decayed beyond repair.
Implant Supported Denture
Also called an overdenture. It snaps onto implant posts. Or onto an implant supported metal frame that sits on your gums. This type of denture is removable. But, much more secure than traditional dentures. If you already have a denture, usually it can be modified to snap on to implants.
An implant secured denture allows more biting force than a traditional denture. And the placement of implants will stop further bone loss.
A situational example: if you have dentures already, but are sick of them. You can’t eat the food you want. You can’t taste the food you do eat. And they pop out when you laugh and talk. Or your mouth is sore and your jaw bone is shrinking.
This is not uncommon for denture wearers. The good news is… that your denture may be able to work with implants. But, much better than what you have been dealing with.
Shrinking jaw bone causes sunken cheeks and pointed chin. Sometimes this is called “witch chin”. If you have been wearing traditional dentures for a long time… a bone graft may be necessary.
At your consultation, a dental implant expert will be able to show you your options. Request a voucher for a free consultation today.
FULL FIXED ARCH
This option is the latest and greatest. The “Cadillac of dental implants”. This option will restore 90% of your biting force. Full fixed arch allows for steak, apples, corn. With this option you don’t have to worry about bone loss. You don’t have to worry about your teeth falling out.
Made from zirconia, the full fixed arch replaces all your teeth. Zirconia is one of the hardest materials used in dental implants. Zirconia can also take the shape and color of your teeth. Making zirconia the perfect solution.
For full fixed arch implants, the implant surgeon installs four to six implant posts. Top and bottom. These implants securely fasten to your jaw bone. In some cases, the implant surgeon will need to perform a bone graft. This happens when the jaw bone has shrunk over time.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SURGERY?
After the surgeon installs the implants… there is a recovery time. This is necessary to make sure the implant doesn’t fail. This process–called osseointegration–is crucial. This is when the implants fuse to the jaw bone, becoming like real tooth roots. This process takes 4-6 months.
During the osseointegration period, expect to have a diet of soft foods. This helps make sure the implants have a chance to fuse. Nuvia Dental Implant Center uses the truintegration method. Truintegration measures the progress of fusion. If you were to start using your implants like your normal teeth before they fuse to the jaw bone… there is a greater chance of implant failure.
WILL I NEED A BONE GRAFT?
Your Dental Implant Specialists will know if you need a bone graft. At your consultation, the implant specialist will take a CT scan. This will allow them to see what your needs are.

Booking your consultation is the best way to find out what your needs are. And the good news… your consultation can be free when you apply for a voucher at Nuvia Dental Implant Center.
This consultation normally costs $300.00. But, at Nuvia, we want the world to know what the options are. And we want the world to know how amazing dental implants can be.
We have seen so many happy patients that have had their lives changed walk through our doors. Patients that have become family. The grandma who never thought she would be able to eat pizza with her grandkids again. Or the dad who can now be in his daughters’ selfies without feeling embarrassed.
There’s Amy who lost her teeth at a young age. And, because of her circumstances, has gone most of her life without functioning teeth. When we first met Amy, she had almost given up hope. But, after the consultation, she got excited!
Amy was sure she would never eat raw vegetables again. When she learned that–with dental implants–raw vegetables would once again be on the menu… that was all the convincing it took.
Now, she can eat all the raw veggies her heart desires… Getting nutrition she had been missing out on for years. That’s actually something many people do not know about dental implants.
At Nuvia Dental Implant Center we are all about adding years onto your life. When teeth are missing. Or when dentures are destroying your appetite… Nutrition suffers. It’s one of the life changing perks of dental implants. Imagine spending years not able to eat foods you love. And, not able to eat nutritious foods.
This will have a negative impact on health… especially over many years. Dental implants change life by allowing you to eat not only delicious, but nutritious foods.
It’s more than a beautiful smile… as nice as that is. It’s about adding precious years onto your life. It’s the grandma that gets to see her granddaughter’s wedding… or the dad that gets to become a grandpa and spoil the grandkids for many many years.
All this for about the price of a nice used car. When put into perspective like that, it’s hard to think of a valid excuse.
wwIf you are tired of broken, missing, or decaying teeth. And you are ready to get your life back. Your journey begins with filling out the brief survey. This will let you know if you are a good candidate. If you are, the next step is your consultation. Remember, this is a 300 dollar value. But, because we are so excited about life changing implants, we are offering free vouchers to cover the cost of the consultation.
At your consultation, your Nuvia Dental Implant Specialist will take measurements, discuss your medical history and determine your treatment. A very simple process that will help map out your treatment plan.
And, depending on your situation, a short 4 to 6 months later you can have your steak and eat it too.
At Nuvia Dental Implant Center we make it as easy as possible to give you your desired results. Payment plans are available, major insurance accepted, and we even work with medicare. Your dental implant specialist will help you explore all these options when you come in for your consultation.
